Testing your app in developer mode

BerryStore lets you test your application listing privately before you make it generally available to all BerryStore users. You can use this feature to see how your app description (in the <notes> section) renders on the phone or to verify that your build rules are delivering the correct build.

Normally only public releases (those marked with <public>yes</public>) are shown in the application listing. Developer mode changes that behavior so that your private release is shown, provided the correct release password is entered. To enter developer mode, press and hold the ALT key while typing T-E-S-T while you're at the main application listing in BerryStore. You will be presented with a password screen (shown at right). Then, enter the same password specified in the <password> section of your appcast. If the passwords match, you will see your app listed in BerryStore.

Making your app public

Once you are satisfied that everything is working correctly, make your release public by setting <public>yes</public> in your <release> section.
